You may have someone acting on your behalf; this is called a plan nominee.
In some instances, where you cannot speak on your own behalf it can be difficult to have things actioned without a plan nominee in place.
If you have a plan nominee, they can help you with things like talking to your Support Coordinator and filling out paperwork.
Your plan nominee might be a family member or friend. They might also be someone from an organisation that supports you, like an advocate.
Be aware of the potential conflict of interest when a person such as a Support Coordinator or a Support Worker is also the plan nominee.
Conflicts of interest can happen if the person acting on your behalf also provides support or services to you. It is important that you feel comfortable discussing your NDIS plan with them and that they act in your best interests.
